OPERA JACKSONVILLE PRESENTS

2017-2018 THE MET: HD LIVE IN SCHOOLS PROGRAM FOR DCPS

THE MET: HD LIVE IN SCHOOLS

PROGRAM OVERVIEW

  • This is our 10th year bringing this program to Jacksonville teachers and students. Since 2008, we have trained over 100 teachers and provided 6,000 seats to 40 operas.

  • There are over 250 cities on a waiting list, some up to 10 years, to get this program for their school districts.

  • Jacksonville is the first, and only city, to earn the right to have its own private theatre receive live broadcasts directly from the Met Opera stage.

  • Take a chance. Come to one of our workshops (PD credited with gourmet catered meal), and find out why students want to go not just once, but over and over again.

  • You’ll learn cutting edge new teaching methods that you will be able to use successfully for the rest of your teaching career, regardless of the subject area.

  • If you love teaching and your students, you will love this program. Nothing is more fun and enlightening to bring to your classroom and you don’t have to know anything about opera to start doing so!

  • We’ll give you everything you need!  No obligation to bring students to a performance to attend the Workshop.

All Performances Are Live Broadcast from the Metropolitan Opera House to the Lawrence J. DuBow Theatre at Douglas Anderson School for the Arts

We are working on our other pages. Opera Descriptions, Workshop Descriptions Teacher Comments, Parent and Student Feedback, Videos, and more will be posted by August 14.
